For ease of reference, the upstream sector shall include all activities that relate to satellite manufacturing, launch services, satellite operations, and control. The Ground segment includes those who carry out the following activities within the Nigerian space environment.
- Construction and Operation of Launch Facilities
- Manufacturing of Space Objects
- Launch of Space objects and access to flight paths
- Overseas Launch Certificate
- Own or operate a Launch Vehicle
The midstream covers satellite data processing, storage and analysis between the satellite and ground station, network management, teleport services, data compression, encryption, and transmission to the ground station. It includes activities such as data reception, preprocessing/decoding and distribution of satellite data to the ground station and also to end users.
The Downstream covers satellite broadcasting (TV, radio) and telecommunications (voice, data, internet), navigation and mapping services (GNS, GIS), remote sensing, and earth observation. The information includes company name, number of satellites, administrating country, type of service and landing permit.
